Refund Policy

AutoBuyer+ Refund Policy When a refund applies and how to ask for one. Hey! This is our refund policy for AutoBuyer+ subscriptions. Hover over any section and I'll explain what it means in plain language. We want to be upfront about how refunds work so there are no surprises.

Basics

Scope and the words used.

This policy covers paid subscriptions only: Regular, Premium, and Professional. If you're on the Free tier, there's nothing to refund — just uninstall whenever you like. This document works alongside the End-User License Agreement (EULA), so make sure you've read that too.

Preamble & Scope

Section 1

  1. This Refund Policy ("Policy") governs all refund requests related to paid AutoBuyer+ subscriptions, including the Regular, Premium, and Professional Membership Tiers (collectively, "Paid Tiers").
  2. This Policy applies to all Users who have made at least one payment through the Licensor's authorized payment processor (Paddle).
  3. The Free Tier is not covered by this Policy, as no payment is required for Free Tier access. Free Tier users may discontinue use at any time without obligation.
  4. This Policy supplements and operates in conjunction with the AutoBuyer+ End-User License Agreement (EULA) v1.1. In the event of a conflict between this Policy and the EULA, the EULA shall prevail.
  5. By purchasing a Paid Tier subscription, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to both the EULA and this Refund Policy.
Just a quick glossary so we're all on the same page. "Refund Window" is the short period after each charge where you can ask for your money back. "First Launch" means the moment the software connects to our servers for the first time after a payment.

Definitions

Section 2

  1. Refund Window means the period of twenty-four (24) hours following a successful payment, or until the Software is first launched after that payment, whichever occurs first.
  2. First Launch means the first time the Software authenticates with the Licensor's servers using a license tied to the relevant payment.
  3. Billing Cycle means the recurring monthly period for which a Paid Tier subscription fee is charged.
  4. Qualifying Failure means a documented, reproducible inability to install, launch, or authenticate the Software that is not caused by the User's hardware, operating system incompatibility, or network configuration.
  5. Billing Error means a duplicate charge, incorrect tier charge, or any payment processed without the User's authorization.
  6. All other capitalized terms carry the meanings defined in Section 2 of the EULA.

Eligibility

What qualifies and what doesn't.

You have 24 hours after each payment to request a refund. If you launch the software before those 24 hours are up, the refund window closes immediately. This applies to every billing cycle, not just your first payment. By agreeing to the EULA, you waive the 14-day EU/UK cooling-off period in exchange for instant access.

Refund Eligibility Window

Section 3

  1. A refund may be requested within twenty-four (24) hours of a successful payment, or before the Software is first launched after that payment, whichever occurs first (the "Refund Window").
  2. The Refund Window applies independently to each Billing Cycle. This means:
    • Your initial subscription payment has its own 24-hour Refund Window;
    • Each subsequent monthly auto-renewal has its own 24-hour Refund Window starting from the moment the renewal charge is processed.
  3. Once the Software has been launched (authenticated with the Licensor's servers) following a payment, the Refund Window for that Billing Cycle closes immediately, regardless of how much time remains in the 24-hour period.
  4. EU/UK Right of Withdrawal Waiver. By purchasing a Paid Tier subscription and agreeing to the EULA, you expressly request immediate access to the digital content and acknowledge that you waive your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. This waiver is a condition of receiving instant access to the Software upon payment.
  5. Refund requests submitted after the Refund Window has closed will be denied, except in cases of verified Billing Errors (see Section 4(c)).
Refunds are available if the software genuinely won't install or run on your machine. If we accidentally charged you twice or billed the wrong tier, we'll fix it right away. Changed your mind within the window? That's fine too — just let us know before launching.

Qualifying Refund Conditions

Section 4

A refund will be granted if the request is submitted within the Refund Window and meets at least one of the following conditions:

  1. Qualifying Failure. The Software fails to install, launch, or authenticate on the User's system due to a defect in the Software itself. The User must provide proof of failure as specified in Section 6.
  2. Change of Mind. The User has decided not to use the Software, provided the request is made within the Refund Window and the Software has not been launched since the relevant payment.
  3. Billing Error. The User was charged incorrectly, including but not limited to:
    • Duplicate charges for the same Billing Cycle;
    • Charges for a higher Tier than the one purchased;
    • Charges processed after the User had already cancelled their subscription;
    • Any unauthorized payment not initiated by the User.
    Billing Error refunds are not subject to the Refund Window and may be requested at any time within twelve (12) months of the erroneous charge.
There are a few situations where we unfortunately can't offer a refund. If you've already used premium features or violated the ToS, the payment is considered final. Account freezes and bans are covered in the EULA — we can't refund for those.

Non-Refundable Situations

Section 5

Refunds will not be granted under any of the following circumstances:

  1. Expired Refund Window. The Refund Window for the relevant Billing Cycle has passed, and the request does not qualify as a Billing Error under Section 4(c).
  2. Post-Launch Requests. The Software was launched (authenticated) after the relevant payment, even if the 24-hour period has not yet elapsed.
  3. ToS Violations. The User's license has been terminated or suspended for violating the EULA, including but not limited to cracking, tier circumvention, account sharing, or unauthorized redistribution.
  4. Heavy Usage. The User has made substantial use of Paid Tier features during the Billing Cycle for which a refund is requested, as determined by the Licensor's server logs.
  5. Termination for Cause. The User's account was terminated for cause under Section 13 of the EULA.
  6. Third-Party Account Actions. Any suspension, freezing, banning, or termination of the User's third-party game account by the Game Rights Holders, regardless of when it occurs or whether the User had an active Paid Tier subscription at the time. The Licensor assumes no liability for third-party account actions, as stated in Sections 9, 10, and 11 of the EULA.
  7. Buyer's Remorse After Use. The User is dissatisfied with the Software's performance, features, or compatibility after having launched and used it beyond the Refund Window.
If the software won't run, we'll need a quick screen recording to verify the issue. Any video format works — MP4, WebM, a YouTube link, whatever is easiest for you. Just make sure the recording shows your OS and the AutoBuyer+ version number. You can send it through Discord, email, Paddle, or GitHub — whichever you prefer.

Proof of Failure Requirements

Section 6

  1. For refund requests based on a Qualifying Failure (Section 4(a)), the User must provide a screen recording that clearly demonstrates the failure occurring in real time.
  2. The screen recording must:
    • Show the Software failing to install, launch, or authenticate;
    • Clearly display the User's operating system and version (e.g., Windows 11, macOS 14);
    • Clearly display the AutoBuyer+ version number being used;
    • Be unedited and continuous (no cuts or splices around the failure point).
  3. Accepted formats include any standard video file (MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI) or a shareable link to a hosted video (YouTube, Streamable, Google Drive, etc.).
  4. Proof of failure may be submitted through any of the following channels:
  5. The Licensor reserves the right to request additional diagnostic information (e.g., log files, system specs) if the initial proof is inconclusive.

Processing

Refunds, downgrades and disputes.

Approved refunds go back to your original payment method. Processing takes about 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank. We don't do partial refunds — your access continues until the end of the paid period.

Refund Processing

Section 7

  1. All approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the transaction. The Licensor does not offer refunds via alternative methods, store credit, or tier extensions unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  2. Refunds are processed within five to ten (5–10) business days of approval. The actual time for funds to appear in the User's account depends on Paddle and the User's financial institution.
  3. The Licensor does not offer prorated refunds for partial Billing Cycles. If a refund is approved, the User retains access to their Paid Tier features until the end of the current paid period, after which their account reverts to the Free Tier.
  4. Refunds are issued on a per-Billing-Cycle basis. A refund for one Billing Cycle does not automatically refund previous or subsequent cycles.
If you downgrade your tier, the change takes effect at the end of your current month. You'll keep your current tier's features until then — no partial refunds for the difference.

Tier Downgrades

Section 8

  1. When a User downgrades from a higher Paid Tier to a lower Paid Tier (e.g., Premium to Regular), the downgrade takes effect at the end of the current Billing Cycle.
  2. The User retains full access to their current (higher) Tier features until the Billing Cycle ends.
  3. No prorated refund or partial credit will be issued for the price difference between the higher and lower Tier during the transition period.
  4. If the User wishes to request a refund for the current Billing Cycle instead of downgrading, the standard Refund Window and conditions in Sections 3–5 apply.
If something's wrong with a charge, please talk to us before going to your bank. We can usually fix billing issues much faster than a chargeback process. That said, you always have the legal right to dispute charges through your bank.

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Section 9

  1. If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact the Licensor's support team through the channels listed in Section 11 before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or payment provider.
  2. The Licensor reserves the right to terminate the license associated with a fraudulent or abusive chargeback. This includes cases where the User has made substantial use of Paid Tier features and then disputes the charge without a legitimate basis.
  3. Nothing in this Policy or the EULA restricts your legal right to dispute charges through your bank, credit card issuer, or payment provider in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.
  4. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting support may result in immediate suspension of your account pending resolution of the dispute.
Sometimes Neopets pushes big updates that break things temporarily. When that happens, we'll let everyone know what's going on and how long the fix will take. If an outage is severe enough, we may offer compensation on a case-by-case basis.

Service Outages & Discretionary Refunds

Section 10

  1. The Licensor acknowledges that the Software depends on the stability of third-party platforms (including Neopets) and that updates to those platforms may temporarily disrupt certain features.
  2. In the event of a prolonged service outage affecting core Paid Tier features (e.g., CAPTCHA Solving Service, Database access, event automation), the Licensor will communicate the status and expected resolution timeline to affected Users through the official channels.
  3. Compensation for service outages — including prorated refunds, subscription extensions, or tier upgrades — will be determined on a case-by-case basis at the Licensor's sole discretion, taking into account:
    • The severity and duration of the outage;
    • Whether the outage was caused by third-party platform changes beyond the Licensor's control;
    • The impact on the User's ability to use core Paid Tier features;
    • The Licensor's response time and communication during the outage.
  4. The Licensor may, at its sole discretion and as a goodwill gesture, grant refunds or compensation outside the standard terms of this Policy in exceptional circumstances (e.g., extended outages, critical bugs affecting a specific User's setup). Such discretionary decisions do not establish a precedent and do not modify the terms of this Policy.
  5. Temporary disruptions caused by routine maintenance, third-party platform updates, or CAPTCHA service fluctuations do not qualify for automatic compensation.

Final Notes

Please read these too.

This Refund Policy is effective as of the date of publication and may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to Paid Tier subscribers with reasonable notice. Continued use of a Paid Tier subscription after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. For the avoidance of doubt, this Policy does not override any non-waivable consumer rights you may have under the laws of your jurisdiction.
